Andy had been in labour now for 18 hours and the light Essex rain still covered Chelmsford like a wet blanket. Then just after noon, the sun broke through and lit the delivery room. My son was born and as I held Benjamin in my arms in the weak autumn sun, he dumped a load of green shit on me.
Today in 1994, my world changed forever and we became parents.
