There is an ancient and venerable form of Christianity which known as Coptic Christianity and many Copts live in Egypt, Ethiopia, Armenia and Syria. Today the Copts mark their Christmas.
In Catholic countries today used to be celebrated as “distaff day”. A distaff is the stone used in spinning and traditionally this would be the day that women would return to their normal duties after the 12 days of Christmas.
