The patron saint of Oxford and Oxford University died this day in 727. Saint Frithuswith or Frideswide was an Anglo-Saxon princess who founded an abbey in Oxford. The abbey was incorporated into Christchurch, one of the colleges of Oxford University and the only college in the World incorporating a cathedral.
